How to analyse a long video with AI

A two-hour recording is useless if you cannot find the ten seconds you need. Video analysis turns footage into something searchable: what was said, what was shown, when, and answers to questions about it. It works for lectures, interviews, meetings, surveillance and raw b-roll alike.

Guide

Transcript is only half of it

Speech-to-text gives you the words. Video understanding models also describe what is on screen: a slide title, a product being held up, a person leaving the room, a chart appearing. Combined, you can ask 'when does she show the pricing slide?' and get a timestamp even if nobody said the word 'pricing'.

Good analysis returns timestamps for every statement and scene, so a result is a place to jump to, not a paragraph to read.

In practice

What to ask

Summaries are the least interesting output. Better questions: list every decision made and who made it; find every moment a specific object appears; give me the exact quote about X with its time; compare what was promised in minute 5 with what was shown in minute 40. Treat the analysis as a searchable witness, not a summariser.

Step by step

How to do it in Vyndexo

Step 1

Upload

Open Deep Video Analyze from the sidebar and drop in the file or paste a link. Long files are fine; processing cost is shown per minute of video before you confirm.

Step 2

Wait for the index

The video is transcribed and visually indexed once. After that, every question is answered from the index without re-processing.

Step 3

Ask and jump

Ask in plain language. Each answer carries timestamps; click one to jump the player to that moment.

Step 4

Keep it

The analysis stays in your project. Share it into a Space so a teammate can search the same video.
